Bill Dettering, CEO:
 As
a lifelong serial entrepreneur, Bill has designed and shipped over
50 retail software packages. Applian Technologies is Bill's latest
company, originally founded in 1997 as a Pocket PC software publisher.
In 2001, Applian Technologies released Replay Radio, which was the
company's first Desktop Streaming Media Recording application, and
included a Pocket PC player as well. Since then, Applian has focused
on building the best software tools for capturing and recording
streaming media.
Applian is Bill's fourth company. Previous to Applian, Bill founded
Mazingo Networks Inc, AApex Software, and SWFTE International.
When not coding or web surfing, Bill enjoys mountain biking, snowboarding,
basketball, spending time with his twins, and making Survivor audition
videos.
Bill is a graduate of Swarthmore College with a degree in Psychology.
Tom Mayes, COO:
 With
over 20 years sales and operations experience, Tom has consistently
and successfully driven revenue growth for companies in the investment,
manufacturing and software industries. After managing $55 million
in annual revenue for Fletcher Challenge, Tom shifted his attention
to the technology sector. He headed up sales for Mazingo Networks,
a Pocket PC and media company. Tom then joined Applian Technologies
in 2003 and partnered in the expansion of the company’s product
line.
Tom is a graduate of UC Berkeley with a degree in Social Science.
Leslie Bee, Director of Marketing:
 Leslie joined Applian Technologies as VP of Marketing in June of 2006 after serving as General Manager of Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, one of the country's premier advertising agencies. Leslie worked at Goodby, Silverstein & Partners for nearly nine years. Including her stint at Goodby, Leslie has worked in marketing and advertising for nearly 18 years.
Leslie has always loved music and film When she first discovered the fabulous suite of products Bill and Tom had put together for Applian Technologies she knew she wanted to work for the company and help it grow It took nearly two years for the stars to align before she got her chance to join them She is having a blast.
Leslie has known Bill Dettering and Tom Mayes for nearly 30 years. They all went to high school together in Marin. Leslie graduated from Berkeley with a B.S. in Rhetoric. She spent her first five years after Berkeley working on Wall Street and in London as a foreign exchange trader and bond trader.
Leslie lives in a 102-year old house in glorious Marin County with her relaxed husband, their two amazing children, a goofy golden retriever and crazy cat.
Debbie McCormick, Director of Technology & Design:
 Debbie officially joined Applian Technologies in April of 2005. Debbie had been affiliated with Applian for several years prior to joining the company on a full-time basis. After a long, satisfying and very busy career in the field of public-sector labor-relations, the "geek" in her finally won out. Debbie left her position as a professional Mediator with the state of Ohio to work full time with her friends at Applian.
Debbie brings a passion for all technology and many years of experience in web and graphic design.
Debbie is an avid cyclist and lives in Mason, OH with her husband, daughter and Murphy the Wonderdog.
