Keillor is a bitter, miserable Luddite but a wonderfully gifted storyteller with a great eye for talent and good ear for eccentric musical acts. The quality of the show is uneven, but when it's on there's nothing better on radio.

PHC is my #1 radio show. If you get a chance to see a live show, you will not regret it. An old time radio genre that has almost vanished. Garrison Keillor is the most artful story teller of who I know and, Fred Newman is a Foley sound effects wizard!

Except for the Guy Noir sketches, very enjoyable. Your musical tastes will be pleasantly stretched too. A symphonic orchestra arrangement of the powdered milk biscuit theme is an excellent example on an earlier program. If you can't laugh at yourself, .

The big joke here is liberal elites bashing their stupid redneck conservative neighbors, hee hee. Probably plays well in the northeast but it's pretty much a one trick pony that makes fun of traditional Americana, how quaint.
