Some FLV videos convert upside-down:

First make sure that you have the most recent version of Replay Converter installed. The latest version is always available here. If an FLV video converts upside-down try the conversion again with the flip video option enabled. Here's how:

  1. In Replay Converter, click on the Options button.
  2. Enable the Edit Target Format Before Starting Conversion Job option.
  3. Click OK
  4. Run the conversion again. Now, when you perform a conversion, you'll be able to change the conversion parameters. Select the flip video option for this conversion.

Please Note: Any changes you make to the conversion parameters are only in effect for the upcoming task. The defaults are restored for subsequent conversion jobs.

I can't play or convert a video downloaded from Keepvid, Videodownload.net or other sites

If you've obtained a video file from a download site like Keepvid or videodownload.net, try renaming the file with a .flv extension (name it like "myvideo.flv") before converting it. Often times downloaded files don't have the proper .flv extension needed or playback and conversion.

My file does not convert, or the video and audio are out of sync.

Here are some general troubleshooting steps to improve your conversions:

  1. Replay Converter is updated frequently. First, make sure that you have the most recent version of Replay Converter installed. Click here to download the latest.
  2. Make sure that the original file is in a format that Replay Converter can work with. You'll find a chart of compatible formats in the User Guide. Replay Converter cannot convert content that has been protected by DRM (digital rights management).
  3. Conversions can fail if your computer is missing a necessary codec. We have a package of frequently used codecs available for download. Extract the contents of the zip file to the same directory as the ReplayConverter.exe. Please note that if you installed Replay Converter as part of Replay AV, you should extract the contents of the codec zip file to your Replay AV directory. Usually C:\Program Files\Replay AV 8\
  4. Try changing the Use Direct Show option for the original file format that you're having trouble with. Here's how:
    1. In Replay Converter, click on the Options button.
    2. Click the Video Conversion Options button if your original file is a video. Click the Audio Conversion Options button if your original file is an audio format.
    3. Check the box that corresponds with the ORIGINAL file format of the file you are having trouble converting, or uncheck it if already selected, then run the conversion again.

I can't convert WMA (Windows Media Audio) files or DRM protected videos.

Many .wma files are protected with a DRM license. This means that you cannot copy them or convert them.

There is a solution however - you can use Replay Music to record them as MP3 files. Here's how to do it:

  1. Open Replay Music.
  2. Start a new recording session.
  3. In Windows Media Player (or other player), make a playlist of the .WMA files you want to convert, and then play it.
  4. When the playlist has finished playing, Replay Music will have MP3 files waiting for you. All songs will be tagged with the artist, album, title and genre information.

Some videos are copy protected with a DRM license and cannot be converted. Use Replay Screencast to record these videos as you play them from your desktop instead.
